How JariGė came out with his latest release Ecstasy
Can you share the inspiration behind your latest track, “Ecstasy Unbound”?
The basic energy and idea behind this track came to me in the summer when I was in Finland behind the polar circle. The trance elements and build-ups are like the northern lights coming down from above. Then of course the other part comes from my ecstatic dance experience. I wanted this track to have an earth shattering bass for the dancefloor experience, where people can fully go into their own ecstatic state and unity with the other dancers with this track.
What does the title “Ecstasy Unbound” mean to you, and how does it reflect the energy of the track?
Obviously this title is like the energy of the track, an expression of unattached freedom, which is the basic part to reach the ecstatic state in a dance. We build up the tension to the ecstatic state. In this sense, the track is built like a wave that keeps moving until the last drop, where it wildly peaks.
How would you describe the fusion of Techno and Trance elements in this track?
I tried to make it as smooth as possible to get the high energy vibration and techno vibe with hypnotic strong bass into the track. The trance vibes come from my own festival experience during Sets from artists like Armin van Buuren, where I listened and learned how to create waves of uplifting energy, and creating an amazing experience for the dancers on the floor.
Can you walk us through the creative process of producing this track?
My process started with a basic melody and bassline that needed to be very powerful and shattering to create this big wave of fusion between the trance parts and the techno sound. With the melody i just went with my feeling of sound.
The bassline and percussion are so powerful in this track. How did you craft those elements to create such a dynamic sound?
I just went with my gut and tried different daws and plugins. Just worked on it until the sound was very good to get this effect that would move the dancefloor and get people dancing.
What role does the live crowd’s energy play in shaping the music you create?
A very big role, because I come from live djing to ecstatic dance crowds. I watch the effects and create my sounds according to the energy of the group. I try to achieve those high states of mind with a big release in the drop and basslines. So basically I love melodic sounds with techno beats, which is where a lot of my ecstatic dance highs come from.
Are there any particular festivals or stages where you envision this track having its biggest impact?
This track will have a good impact on any electronic festival because I can play it in different peak spots in different versions and mixes. On ecstatic dance festivals this has a great impact to create the big moment if played in the right spots and moments.
Are there any upcoming collaborations or projects you’re excited about following this release?
Yes, I will be releasing my Afro-House tracks in Arambol (Goa) in March. These tracks also work with a melodic sound and offer a fusion of Afro-House with some very fresh and interesting elements. I can see one of these tracks in the Beatport Top 10 Afro-House.
Finally, what message would you like to share with your listeners about “Ecstasy Unbound” and your journey as an artist?
Taking people on a journey into a unified field of joy and ecstasy with my tracks and dances is the ultimate goal. On the Ecstatic Dance Floor and as a DJ this feeling of ecstatic energy is what it is all about. Blessings
